Missions of the USS Pioneer
Mission 1 :: A Time For Conflict ( Joint Mission )
April 2010 to July 2010, Stardate 64260.7 to 64279.2
Captain Tia Zedel is replaced as CO by Commander Deborah Shearer, who also assumes the ship's mission, to investigate the disappearance of several ships along the Federation's border with the Klingon Empire. Along with the USS Kyushu, the Pioneer discovers and confronts a Klingon ship that is testing a new weapon system.
During the mission, Commander Shearer is also faced with the difficulties of command, a responsibility she did not ask for, and one that she was possibly not ready for. In fact, in one instance while facing the Klingon ship, Commander Shearer froze before giving an order to fire on the enemy. This incident will reverberate in the future.
In the end, the Klingon ship is destroyed, and the shakedown cruise of the USS Pioneer is declared a success.

Mission 2 :: Diplomacy in Sarna
August 2010 to October 2010, Stardate 64600.2 to 64814.9
The USS Pioneer is sent to the Sarna system, where a dispute between Klingon separatists on the planet and the planetary government has led the separatists to smuggle weapons into the star system. The Pioneer is able to bring both sides to the bargaining table, where an equitable settlement is reached.
During the mission, Commander Shearer continues to punish herself about the incident on the Bridge, even going so far as to openly blame herself for the deaths that occurred during that combat in front of members of the crew. This drew a rebuke from the Chief of Security.

Mission 3 :: Darkness
November 2010 to January 2011, Stardate 64836.9 to 65000.0
A series of gruesome murders rocks the USS Pioneer, placing more stress on the crew. Newly-promoted Captain Deborah Shearer is confronted by the deaths of a number of her crew, and the experience steels her to the responsibilities of command, while Lt. Rakka, the ship's Chief of Security tries to lead the investigation into the deaths of some of her friends aboard the ship, most notably the ship's Chief Engineer. It turns out that a member of the crew had purchased a Klingon dagger from a merchant on Starbase 24. The blade had been possessed by a wraith shard that delighted in the slaughter of the murders it forced people to commit.
Mission 4 :: Down Time
January 2011 to February 2011, Stardate 65000.0 to 65145.5
As the USS Pioneer lay in dry-dock for repairs at Starbase 24, Capt. Deborah Shearer presides over the re-crewing and overhaul of the ship. Also, she confronts the Klingon merchant who sold the possessed dagger that resulted in the deaths aboard the ship. Shearer's plans for a long recovery stay at Starbase 24 are interrupted by news of an invasion of the Federation by the Kzinti.
Mission 5 :: The Kzinti War
February 2011 to March 2012, Stardate 65153.5 to 65867.6
While the USS Pioneer is out on anti-piracy patrol, the Kzinti launch a surprise attack against a number of Federation outposts, including Starbase 24, which is destroyed. The Pioneer met up with the USS Achilles, and the two ships spent some time attacking Kzinti ships where they could. At some point, the Federation retakes the area around Starbase 24 and begins rebuilding the facility. The USS Pioneer is selected to transport Admiral Clayton Walker to his post commanding the rebuilding effort. Admiral Walker took the opportunity to designate the USS Pioneer as his flagship, taking command. He explained that he felt that Capt. Shearer did not have the combat experience necessary to complete the mission, especially within an active war zone.
The invasion was a cover by some of the Kzinti leaders as cover for a plot. A Federation scientist in the pay of the Kzinti sold them Omega particles. One Kzinti warlord, Tchar, disobeyed the cease-fire orders of the Kzinti patriarch, and attacked the USS Pioneer using Omega particle-laced weapons. The attack resulted in the death of Admiral Walker. Warlord Tchar squared off against the USS Pioneer. In order to ensure that the Omega particles did not
fall into the hands of any other Kzinti faction, Aldon Bester took a shuttle, and transported an explosive device aboard Tchar's ship, destroying it.
In the aftermath of the battle, Captain Shearer activates the Omega Directive, covering the actions of both Aldon Bester, and Admiral Walker, who had ordered Bester to investigate the disappearance of the particles. The Kzinti patriarch returned to Kzinti territory, and the USS Pioneer returned to Starbase 24.
In a meeting following the battle, Aldon Bester gives the Pioneer's Chief Intel Officer a PADD containing a termination order from Kevar of the Mastrocal Province, putting a death order on Captain Shearer, for her constant interference in Klingon affairs.

Mission 6 :: Meeting the Klingons
April 2012 to November 2012, Stardate 66325.9 to 66934.1
Captain Kretorg of the IKS D'ama pays a visit to Starbase 24 and the USS Pioneer. He debriefs Captain Shearer about the threat posed by the termination order issued by Kevar. A plan of action against Kevar is hatched, but it will take time to stop him.
Meanwhile, Zrakk Vilenor is allowed some time off, and he returns to the Gorn homeworld, where he participates in a ceremony honoring adulthood. The USS Pioneer takes the opportunity to engage in rest and relaxation, as well as re-crewing of the ship.

Mission 7 :: On the Tholian Border
November 2012 to May 2013, Stardate 66891.8 to 67340.6
The USS Pioneer is ordered to patrol the Tholian border, in what Capt. Shearer hopes will be a quiet mission. After a stop at Station K7 where a bar fight breaks out between members of the Pioneer crew and a group of Klingons, the USS Pioneer is met by the IKS Qagh, and its commander, Captain K'qan, who tells Shearer that he feels the termination order against her is not valid.The USS Pioneer continues on its way to the Tholian border.
Once at the border patrol area, the USS Pioneer responds to an attack on a colony world. Upon arrival, they drive off a Tholian flotilla and pursue the ships into the star system's asteroid belt, where another battle results in the Tholians being severely damaged, while inflicting considerable damage on the Pioneer. The ship attempts to limp back to the colony, while the Tholian ship calls for help. The Tholian help arrives, and they again engage the USS Pioneer, which barely survives the assault through the valiant efforts of its Ops Officer, Arnold Franz.
The USS Pioneer manages to survive both the attack from the Tholian ships, and a boarding party, and arrives back at Bellatrix, where they request that Starfleet send a larger force to patrol the border to keep the Tholians from trying anything so explicit again.
Meanwhile, an energy-eating symbiont that had infected the energy core of Starbase 24 was found inhabiting the bodies of several members of the Pioneer crew, including the Chief Medical Officer. Once this was discovered, the Pioneer crew were decontaminated, and the energy eater was transported to somewhere where it would have the food it needed.
Finally, Kevar of the Mastocal Sector was the victim of a SFIC plot, that reported many of his business dealings to the government as dangerous to the lives of the workers, and therefore dishonorable. He was forced from the High Council, and fled Quo'nos. Kevar was badly injured in a battle near Boreth. He managed to escape, but was further injured during the landing, and was taken to a local hospital. Aldon Bester arranged for Kevar to be murdered in his hospital bed.
Upon reaching Starbase 24, the USS Pioneer is decommissioned due to the severe damage done to the ship. Captain Shearer and her command and crew are assigned to the USS Tripoli, a New Orleans class starship.

Missions of the USS Tripoli
Mission 8 :: The Orion Ruse
January 2014 to August 2014, Stardate 68085.1 to 68600.9
Starfleet Intelligence reported losing an agent in the Daros star system, an area controlled by the Orion merchant families. The USS Tripoli is sent in to investigate in the guise of establishing a trade relationship with the Keros family, one of the families in charge on the planet. The investigation uncovers a piracy ring involving a Klingon merchant, a pirate vessel, the SS Illusion, and one of the other Orion merchant families. Captain Shearer declares martial law in order to lock down the planet, and when the SS Illusion attempts to meet with their seller, the ship is captured, and the crew is apprehended. With evidence from the SS Illusion and her crew, Shearer is able to confront the renegade Orion family and they are ousted from Daros.
Mission 9 :: The Marine Drill
August 2014 to November 2014, Stardate 68600.9 to 68860.0
The Marine detachment aboard the USS Tripoli undergoes a drill. The drill goes badly, with one group unable to get out of the shuttle bay,
and the other group got stopped from boarding the ship when Ens. Emma Riley ejected the warp core. The drill failed, but nothing could
be done at that point, because the Tripoli got called back onto patrol duty.

Mission 10 :: Behind the Curtain
December 2014 to March 2015, Stardate: 68860.0 to 69222.0
Aldon Bester approaches Capt. Deborah Shearer to enlist her help in preventing Section 31 from becoming even more sinister, by
assassinating the current leader, which would then allow Bester's allies to move into power. The attack is successful, and afterwords,
Capt. Shearer is informed that Bester's allies are in the process of moving into certain positions within the intelligence community, and
Bester himself may be somewhat on-communicative for some time, as he will be detained with other duties.
Meanwhile, on the Tripoli, Lt. Mark Roman attempts to kill Ens. Emma Riley, who became aware that Roman was an agent for
Section 31. Mark Roman is jailed for assault of a fellow officer. At the same time, the Marines and crew continue to mull over the
results of the Marine drill.

Mission 11 :: Recertification
May 2015 to January 2016, Stardate 69322.9 to 70086.2
The Starfleet Marine Command decertifies the Tripoli Marine detachment until they can pass a drill test. With this, a drill is devised
and deployed ... the Marines are to assault an observatory and rescue Cpt. Shearer, Capt. T'mest Michaels, of the USS Ranger,
and Ens. Emma Riley, who are 'hostages'. The Marines plan out an assault, and the plan gets underway, only to be cancelled due to
extrreme weather moving through the area. However, the Marines engaged a couple patrol groups and demonstrated their skills
and abilities. The Marine detachment is certified as an active Marine detachment.
